I canceled my #NYT and #WaPo subscriptions a while back, which was at once an easy and hard decision. Bothsidesing issues in the news sections and journalistic malfeasance in the opinion sections made it easy; hard were the handful of informative, investigative stories to which I now only have access if gifted articles. Anyway, I don't know what their front pages look like today, but if #Project2025 is not a front page article, perhaps it's time to cancel yours?
@jeffjarvis. So true about the #NYT. #HeatherCoxRichardson adds this detail re: #ABC's journalistic malfeasance: "ABC News posted the interview transcript w/the president’s conversation portrayed the “g”s dropped off the words & w/other colloquial pronunciations spelled out, as if it were dialect. Trump, whose words the press tends to turn into clean prose, has refused to do an interview under the same conditions."
#CNN, I'd like to introduce you to #JustinJones, #Congressperson from #Tennessee. Perhaps you would like to invite him on one of your shows to discuss #Trump's hate-filled, racist, xenophobic, misogynistic, borderline criminal -- or maybe not so borderline -- (he discussed with #Putin the invasion of #Ukraine?) debate performance.
June is #Alzheimer's and #Brain Health Awareness Month. After I wrote my #memoir with #neurologist Dr. Bruce Miller, I was invited to write a column for the #WSJ -- Five Best Books on Grief. I chose #Didion's The Year of Magical Thinking, #Morrison's Beloved, #Zauner's Crying in H Mart, Macdonald's H is for Hawk, and for good measure a poem, #Ginsberg's Kaddish. Here is my brief reflection on #Zauner. You are not alone in/with your #grief. #EndAlz
#Fahrenheit451 in #Fl: "All the shelves were covered in black paper. There were no books. There was nobody reading. There was nobody checking things out. It wasn’t a library. It was just a room. Initially, I was confused. Then I got angry. I found out why the books were covered up. It’s because of all these new laws and school rules that happened because some people were really upset the library had books about LGBTQ people — books about people like me."
