i feel like henry ford in that scene in ford v ferrari where he's like "I HAD NO IDEA" after almost pissing himself in the gt40 with shelby driving

i got to ride my roommate's built KLX250SF for the first time last night since and holy SHIT that thing is too fast

starting out. it seems like a normal bike right until the point where you feel like you should change gears but if you just keep on the gas it's got 6000 more RPM to shove down your throat with ridiculous acceleration

shift to second? seems normal for about 1/4 of the rev range then it just pulls CRAZY hard until the end of the gear

repeat that for third gear. 4,5,6 are mostly for efficiency and comfort

he got the thing for $1200, fixed it with about $1000 more in parts, took 3 months, and he calls it "My Very Stinky Son Who I Hate Very Much" but i think im in love and so is my other roommate

like the trope of supermotos being hooligan bikes are fucking true, that things a menace. sticks like a sport bike but you can flick it really fast and do hill climbs because it weights 300lbs soaking wet

yes my roommate who was with me did a little ~40deg hill climb with it, it was no problem
