Was reminded of this little gem from September:
"JD Vance has suggested that American support for NATO should be predicated on the European Union not regulating Elon Musk and his X social media platform, formerly known as Twitter."

The new book by @mwl has finally arrived, no thanks to the local post office being very delayed.
Cleo is also itching to run her own mail server.
At least most EU NATO members have woken up or are waking up on the threat of a potential return of the Trump presidency.
Remember, today 35 years ago there was the massacre of the Tiananmen Square protests.
Several hundreds to several thousand civilians were shot, at times in their backs, by the PLA as well as run over by armoured personnel carriers (APC) and main battle tanks (MBT). And thousands more were wounded.
I had seen the request to remove the EU flag, but hadn't seen the follow-up. Chef's kiss.
@daniel_collin True, but at least having a policy is something that can be fallen back on in dubious cases?
What the absolute hell?
Americans pronounce primer as "prim-mer" and not "pri-mer"?!

When I worked for a company that did critical infrastructure for various parties in the digital identity and authentication space, we made a clear decision to put our designs and code in escrow with an external party.
In case something ever happened to the company, there was at least a way to ensure dependent parties could at some point continue. There were many things that could have been done better here, but it was something.
I am saddened not more companies are doing this.

If you have manuals in PDF for appliances/devices (you own), make sure to upload a copy to @internetarchive at the https://archive.org/details/manuals_appliance?tab=collection section.

Small #FediTip: if you encounter a message or thread that is in any way useful to you, bookmark it straight away.
Since the fediverse doesn't have full text searches, it will be very difficult to find that particular thing again a few days later. Especially if you cannot remember who posted it or it has no hashtags.
Periodically review your bookmarks to do something with them and you should be set.
@Gargron Done!

@Gargron If I encounter a consistent bug on this instance, should those bug reports go straight to the Mastodon GitHub issues?
