It's so sad and disappointing to see what's happening in the US right now. Not that it surprises me, but the speed of change is insane. Hope you'll get through all this and can rebuild like you said.

No matter if it's a conscious stereotype or not - there are several studies that show how NTs react to autistic people. In general, they tend to dislike and distrust us. It's not only the lack of eye contact, but many nuanced visual cues that they interpret immediately.
