Das System von TIER funktioniert ganz einfach mittels einer App, die es für Android und iOS gibt. Diese zeigt verfügbare Tretroller in ihrer Nähe an.

Die Geräte können geliehen werden, indem man einfach den QR-Code eines Rollers scannt oder dessen ID-Nummer in der App eingibt und den weiteren Anweisungen folgt.
Für die Aktivierung eines Rollers entfällt eine einmalige Gebühr von einem Euro.
Nach der Aktivierung fällt pro Minute eine Leihgebühr von 19 Cent an. Pro Stunde kostet der Tretroller also 11,40 Euro.
