This is simply theft. I ordered a book internationalky. Books are tariff free and tax free in the Czech republic. The Czech post office charged me 14€ which is MORE THAN THE VALUE OF THE BOOK! To 'process' the nonexistent tariff. #ceskaposta .

I wonder if it would be possible to convince #mastodon devs to expand text posts by default. Expanding image posts by default and collapsing text posts by default encourages low quality content and harms accessibility. Pushing mastodon towards being a platform for screenshotted twitter posts and memes and making everything worse. Is there a way to reconfigure this within #emacsch at least?

Just wanted to take a moment to shill for Czech semi-socialized medical system. Urgent surgery, MRI, PET and CT scans, biopsies, a first, second and third opinion and a week in the hospital cost me a grand total of 90CZK. Approximately $3.87 USD. As far as I can tell, the quality of care was broadly comparable to what I would have gotten in the US (based on experience in the US system).

@WPalant This is self sabotage by the German government. It's a shocking display of utter incompetency. If I find a security flaw in German software I certainly won't be telling anyone about it. This simply weakens German security for no reason.

@thomasfuchs I could never get over the creepiness of websites sharing my email with them and them being able to connect my identity with the gravitar powerd forums I visited and used.
