Agreed! Although #Firefox may be the best we've got for now.
Of course there are #Epiphany, #Konqueror and other FOSS browsers, but I think developing an up-to-date (let alone secure) web browser is a serious effort.
Btw, I do use #Librewolf as my main browser, but if Firefox were to end, I'm not sure they will be able to keep it going by themselves.

I think it's much more effective to give the responsibility of encouraging people to use alt-text to whichever client they use. This is both easier and more respectful to the users.
If someone toots without alt text and everyone complains, they will often respond in a hostile manner or start disliking the fediverse.
Besides, I think many new people simply don't know what it is and why they should consider doing it. Including a simple hint in the client will solve this for everyone.
Are we sure this type of thing does not qualify as malware? How would we even opt out of tracking that happens in drivers? (because of course, all these things are never opt-in to make the most profit off of unknowing subjects)
That would be some headline: Sensitive Health Documents Leaked Through Printer Driver, or worse.
