@cstross this sounds superficially like it could be solved with version control software and a good code review tool but I‘m pretty sure if that were the case you would have mentioned it and I’m missing crucial differences.

Also I don’t think there’s a version control system on the market that wouldn’t drive non-developers mad. @ramsey @inthehands

@ramsey yes, I tried introducing it to non-devs and had the same experience.

The concept doesn’t seem to be the problem but the currently common implementations are far from usable without a ton of training.

@cstross I never used rccs in anger but thinking back to CVS and visual sourcesafe I wouldn’t trade current systems for those.

@spiralganglion well, the opposite of that word would be „Sendungsbewusstsein“ (when you’re aware what you have to do to send the message).

So if that’s missing, you end up feeling Sendungsbewusstlosigkeit which could turn into full scale Versandunfähigkeit when your fears overwhelm your executive functions and you can’t even anymore.
