Today is a good day to read a novel, work in the garden if it's not too hot, stay close to home unless you simply must go out, tell people you love that you love them.

@bmacDonald94 Yep that's a tough combination. I tend to get wrapped up in things and not think about working in healthy amount of movement. It's harder when it's so fricken fracken hot outside.

Sometimes my equilibrium is maintained by avoiding the news entirely. After a few days or a week or so, I find myself again able to tolerate limited exposure, and sometimes even respond. I did miss everybody, but I'm back. For now.

Today I'm thankful for all the researchers contributing to the growing body of evidence that coffee is good for you, and more is better.

Just thinking: People who can hold up in the face of anger, outrage, threats, facts, and logic often collapse in the face of sustained ridicule.

@Likewise I love finding a great author with an existing body of work. #LaurieKing's #MaryRussell novels and #ColinCotteril's #DrSiriPaiboun stories, #JimButcher's #DresdenFiles, #CJCherryh's #Foreigner and #UnionAlliance storylines, #MarionZimmerBradley's #Darkover (esp. the middle novels after she found her voice). Most can be read out of order, but I did miss some references by doing so.

@bmacDonald94 I think of these as sixties flowers, sixties colors. They make me happy. They remind me of high school, when I still knew everything and was always right. We wore flowers in our hair, somebody always had a guitar, and we sang Bob Dylan songs and California Dreamin' by the lake, and though our older brothers were being drafted and dying in a war that was somehow incomprehensible, the streets were full of folks demanding change and the world was full of promise.
