@ai6yr @weatherwest It's already flooding a lot up in Humboldt County and some in Shasta as well. Rescues have been from general rising water in Humboldt County, and from a rising river in the Sierra near Emigrant Gap. It's not snowing, it's dumping rain. Shasta County is mostly flooded streets and overflowing storm sewers.

I'm just floored at the number of people, including the guy whose house is nothing but the pylons that elevated it before the hurricane, are going to stay in #BigBend. It's beautiful, but it's not safe.

Mind you, I say that as someone who lives on one of the most active faults in the world.

I think I will stay home, put some nitrogen on the cucumbers and harvest them up, or maybe cut them back. And I need to harvest the herbs and turn them into pesto and similar.

This is part of why I homeschool. I don't hate school, and I think we need public schools, but my own kid was utterly failed by public school and I think it's fair that we have options for the kids we need to learn differently.
