Decided I am just too low and tired to go out again. All I want is a bath, pyjamas, supermarket pizza and an early night. It’s OK, I did plenty of partying last weekend.

Another night of waking every hour or so. I guess technically it’s my birthday now. Happy birthday me, I made to 50, who’d have thought. Once again I feel absolutely fine during the night, neither up nor down. The Goldilocks zone 😁

I had a nice lunch with Max then I went and got my nails done ready for tomorrow’s costume. I came home and the house is being turned into a 50 themed party palace! So exciting

Just went for a run outside in the sunshine, managed 15 minutes without walking, which is a big improvement. Total 2.9k in 24 minutes. Long way to go until I can run 5k again, but I’ll get there #running

@liztai Twice recently I have not been able to tip for good service because the restaurant only accepts tips in cash and my friends and I don’t carry it. I pay contactless on my watch

@liztai I’m using #obsidian to make journal entries on my experiences of being a PhD student with a mental health disability, which I eventually hope to turn into a journal article

@jwhevans I actually had some pretty disturbing dreams last night, including one where I had to shoot my own dogs to prove my loyalty (I don’t actually have any dogs but in the dream the ownership felt very real)

@jwhevans I have just come out of a phase of only sleeping three or four hours. You might think that because I have bipolar these phases might be tied to mood fluctuations but I am not in the slightest bit depressed so I have no idea why I am sleeping so much

Ooooooh I slept 12 hours again. Not even had breakfast yet and feel like I could nap already. Why must I only ever sleep too much or too little? I am a SleepFreak™️ and I’ve got my freak on. But the anxiety has gone! A mild, cloudy day here, I’m just about to go for my walk to try and wake up a bit. What are you up to?

Last boost: this is so dangerous, politicians seeking to meddle in academic research to suppress findings it considers “woke”. And it appears a complete mischaracterisation of the methods in a very public arena. I’m really angry about it

Good morning! I’ve got a networking call this morning that could lead to some interesting opportunities, then this afternoon I’m getting my hair done. This evening we’re off to the theatre in Cardigan to see the Budapest Cafe Orchestra with our friend B. In between I will be doing bits of PhD work, so it’s a jam packed day. That’s me, what about you?

I’ve just laid down on the bed for the first time and it’s… rickety. And creaky. I’m scared that it will collapse if I turn over in my sleep

Quick workday scroll. Just read a paper that my supervisor wrote which was rejected when submitted to a leading journal. The reviewers did not like the feminist tone which challenged the diagnostic criteria around sexual behaviour for “borderline personality disorder”. Speaking as someone with a lot of contact with service users, I thought it was spot on, but the first reviewer called the analysis “combative”. There is no hope for me then 😂 *sigh*

Just had supervision with both my #phd supervisors. They are really great and I’m already enjoying working with them. We’re all on the same page with wanting to challenge stigma and the pathologising of women and LGBTQIA people, together we would like to change the world, one paper at a time 😂 Looking forward to seeing them both in person when I go to campus next week #PhDLife #PhDChat #AcademicChatter #psychology
