The more I read about #TheBadSpace, the less I can understand people falling for it. How is it not obvious that it's a scam?
People who were sincere about trying to establish themselves as a trustworthy source of who should be blocked would not source their data from low quality sources without at least some effort to clean it up first. Their plan seems to be to make a splash first then develop a functional product or service later because you can't develop that service without funding and you can't get funding without a mock up that tricks uninformed people into thinking you're further along than you actually are. It's just Theranos or any of a million other tech bro start ups.

A fun #anime that does this with a #tokesatsu twist is Gonna be the Twin-Tail!!. It's about a boy who gets a power ranger kind of suit that uses the power of how awesome twin tails (a hairstyle) are to fight the monster of the week. But, since he's a guy he doesn't have them so the suit changes him into a lady.
It's a #trashy fun silly thing that's less lewd than you'd think given that the premise for each monster of the week is a different fetish giving them powers only for our hero to beat them up proving twin tails are the best. But Souji eventually realizes that he loves twin tails so much that he loves them on himself too. Besides, he now has a new appreciation for them after experiencing them. -

Literally yesterday you were advocating for a feature that would make discovery easier/UX simpler for following others. On a technical level, it would require implementing changes that reduce incentives for centralization.
You demonstrably know that convenience isn't the same as centralization. I have no idea why you are bullying @ouij@tambayan.us for asking that the Fediverse be more convenient to use. -

Because Twitter is run by a bad person who is using the platform to do bad things. It's perfectly reasonable to want both convenience and not support a transphobic white supremacist. -

Isn't this a fundamental problem in how Federation works? I'd love for it to be fixed but it seems like something that would have to be addressed at the protocol level. -

A sometimes annoying design choice of the Fediverse is that it isn't great at facilitating a singular identity across platforms. There's no easy way to have your Mastodon account linked to your Bookwyrm account in a way that says "Hey, this is the same person".
Instead, the focus is on making sure that you don't need to make a hundred accounts on different types of servers to do basic things like following, commenting, and ⭐ing stuff. So, if you really like @/alice@/bookwyrm.example then you can follow them and see when they post new reviews on your feed. You can ⭐ a particularly funny review they made to notify them that you like it. You can boost that review so your friends will see it. You can do all of that from your Mastodon account without creating a Bookwyrm account at all. You would only need a Bookwyrm account to post your own reviews of books or that kind of thing.
