    I'm running my OpenBSD laptop all the time right now. I'd like to get started with the 20+ desktop how-to posts I'm planning.

    I also broke my foot.

    While I can't move around, I can't sync the user files in the OpenBSD system with my Debian desktop (via Syncthing) and back to my Fedora disk on the laptop, so that's a big reason to stay in OpenBSD.

    Another reason I don't feel great about using Firefox is that I just got another fund-raising email from Mozilla. It doesn't say "Corporation" or "Foundation." Just "Mozilla."

    They are asking for contributions because $3.55M in federal funding is "currently at risk."

    Again, for the nth time, MOZILLA CORPORATION HAS HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS FROM GOOGLE. USE THAT MONEY.

    Mozilla Corporation should fully fund Mozilla Foundation.

    I don't want to say most of the Zola themes haven't updated their code so RSS feeds work. I will just leave it at "many."

    I found the problem and (sort of) the solution, but I am at odds as to how to fix it myself.

    I tried to fix one theme per this Github issue but it didn't work. I'm just a new Zola user -- I haven't seen enough templates just yet.

    Here's what I'm looking for in a Zola theme:

    * At least some post links appear on the home page
    * Archive/blog page with all posts
    * Tag and category pages
    * RSS works (atom.xml is OK)
    * Not too busy or overly geeky (as in markdown format SHOWING in heds). Clean.

    I like Fedora Silverblue and find it of very high quality and stability, but I'd like something atomic and slower to update.

    Maybe weekly instead of daily.

    Of course I could CHOOSE to update weekly, and everything works work just fine.

    It's a very flexible system in that regard.

    Only slightly related: I spent some time working on C programming. I used Geany and Vim in a Toolbox

      About - Why OpenBSD rocks
      Every now and then (at conferences, the office, the local hackerspace) people ask: “You are using OpenBSD? Why?” There are a bazillion great things about OpenBSD. The people, the philosophy and the technology. “The Members of the OpenBSD Community are masters of reducing complexity” Michael W. Lucas (Author “Absolute OpenBSD”) This site shows random facts about the great functionality and ideas behind OpenBSD, and explains why people are so enthusiastic about it.

    From the article, Mike McGrath of #RedHat:

    “Something that we’ll continue to work on going forward is making sure that we’re being fair with pricing if we have pricing at all—there’s plenty of free stuff still,” he says. “But we also don’t feel obligated to try to cater to every possible Linux user. There are tons of choices out there. People are welcome to choose what’s best for them.”

    @ernie @Motherboard @geerlingguy I appreciate the honesty from #RedHat.

    If the license allows it, and they are OK with the potential trade-off of reputation for revenue, it's their call.

    This move will only help the Linux ecosystem because there are many choices for handling enterprise (and smaller) workloads.

    Nobody wants to switch distros because that means extra work, but sometimes that's the way the cookie crumbles.
