I’m going to step away from the computer for bit. Here’s where things stand with the Mastodon for Harris Debate Matchathon. We are heading toward the rung eight on the match ladder, with $328 to go. When we reach that rung, we we’ll be well on the way to having earned $4000 in matching funds. Good afternoon, all. The Mastodon for Harris Debate Matchathon started last night and is going swimmingly. @charvaka: Your match is due! This means we have already met five matches, totaling about $2500 in match money donated to Harris for President.
Next up is a pair of matches, one from @PJD65 for $50 and one from @phredaustin for $250. So on this 6th rung of the Matchathon we are aiming to raise $300 to get those two matches.

Hello everybody. Here’s my current thinking about the next big push to add funds to Mastodon for Harris, https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mastodon-for-harris, our effort to raise money for the Harris for President campaign. Debate day is coming up on Tuesday, 9/10. And, while not important for anybody else, tomorrow, 9/9, is significant to me because it is my birthday. My present to myself is going to be to kick off a more-or less 24 hour Debate Night Matchathon, starting tomorrow, 9/9, at 9 pm eastern. 1/

Tomorrow, I turn 59. My mother - who was both parent and friend to me - died when she was 59. Sometimes it makes me sad to think that I will, with only a small bit of luck, live longer than she did. But yesterday, while hiking and realizing that that milestone will come in mid-November, it struck me: my mom would have loved for me to surpass her in this respect. I felt a surge of joy. I’m going to carry it with me.

If these were ordinary political times in the U.S., I would not - could not - boost anything Liz Cheney says or does. But these are not ordinary times and I have to note that Cheney gets that. She’s taking a stand and voting for Harris.
