We are $37 from meeting our current $500 match! This is part of our Mastodon for Harris Matchathon. Give to the Harris campaign at https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mastodon-for-harris and get your money matched. Let's get to the next rung on the matchathon ladder.
I’m going to step away from the computer for bit. Here’s where things stand with the Mastodon for Harris Debate Matchathon. We are heading toward the rung eight on the match ladder, with $328 to go. When we reach that rung, we we’ll be well on the way to having earned $4000 in matching funds. Please tell folks that if they donate here https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mastodon-for-harris their contributions will be matched. Matchathon runs until the end of the night or when match funds are used up, whichever comes first.
Good afternoon, all. The Mastodon for Harris Debate Matchathon started last night and is going swimmingly. @charvaka: Your match is due! This means we have already met five matches, totaling about $2500 in match money donated to Harris for President. Next up is a pair of matches, one from @PJD65 for $50 and one from @phredaustin for $250. So on this 6th rung of the Matchathon we are aiming to raise $300 to get those two matches. You all are amazing! I wasn’t at all sure starting the Mastodon for Harris Debate Matchathon the evening before the debate made sense. Yet now we are $31 away from the second rung on the ladder match, put up by @tchambers, founder of @KamalaHarrisWin! Donate at https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mastodon-for-harris to meet Tim’s match.
Join the Mastodon for Harris Debate Night Matchathon! Whether you promise to match $25 or $250 or $2500, others enjoy giving in order to meet your match. It is about connecting and community building as much as it is about supplying the Harris campaign with vital funds. Democracy should never be lonely. Mastodon for Harris update, late morning, 9/9. We are going into the Debate Night Matchathon well positioned to surpass the current target. Thank you to the contributors and boosters who have gotten us this far. https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mastodon-for-harris
Hello everybody. Here’s my current thinking about the next big push to add funds to Mastodon for Harris, https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mastodon-for-harris, our effort to raise money for the Harris for President campaign. Debate day is coming up on Tuesday, 9/10. And, while not important for anybody else, tomorrow, 9/9, is significant to me because it is my birthday. My present to myself is going to be to kick off a more-or less 24 hour Debate Night Matchathon, starting tomorrow, 9/9, at 9 pm eastern. 1/
Tomorrow, I turn 59. My mother - who was both parent and friend to me - died when she was 59. Sometimes it makes me sad to think that I will, with only a small bit of luck, live longer than she did. But yesterday, while hiking and realizing that that milestone will come in mid-November, it struck me: my mom would have loved for me to surpass her in this respect. I felt a surge of joy. I’m going to carry it with me.
Mastodon for Harris, evening update, 9/5. We are doing well heading into debate day. Notably, the recurring contributions are now delivering $25,574.24 per month to Harris for President. https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mastodon-for-harris

I have a number of new contacts among the Harris campaign’s advisers. Tomorrow, I will begin reaching out to them about a campaign presence on Mastodon.
“[W]hy don’t things like Trump’s obvious cognitive impairment, his frequent inability to speak and think coherently, his resolute refusal to acquire minimal baseline knowledge on many consequential issues, his tendency to invent things on the fly that are wildly disconnected from reality, his intense narcissism, his deliberate lying and bigotry and misogyny … go to his core mental and characterological capacity to do the job as president?” - Greg Sargent https://flip.it/Nzwpbg
If these were ordinary political times in the U.S., I would not - could not - boost anything Liz Cheney says or does. But these are not ordinary times and I have to note that Cheney gets that. She’s taking a stand and voting for Harris.
