I've been wanting to learn Spanish, and so far the best way I've heard is to take classes at CCSF, but I'd have to wait till next year
I learned that SFPL gives us free access to a language app called Mango so I've been doing those exercises. Will it actually teach me anything? I guess I'll find out
Not immediately sure if there is a good non instagram source but basically there is a dogs and bikes and dogs on bikes event sept 6, 11 am to 2 pm, at sunset dunes
Went for a bike ride today and stopped by the small, free, Rosie the Riveter museum, owned by the national parks. It talks about WW2 at home - about the women who worked in factories, of course, and the role Richmond played in shipbuilding, but also the gains people of colour made during this time, as well as the internment of people of Japanese descent.
There are plans to remove anything "inappropriate" by September 17, so this is maybe the last opportunity to see the uncensored version of the museum. This small museum will become a lot smaller.
I took a bunch of photos of the exhibits that I think will go away. I'm thinking of putting them up on my blog (cause the alt text would be long) but here are some of the more concise ones
@skinnylatte I have often thought that, more generally, the way to "revitalize downtown" is to try having stores where people want to buy things rather than the current strategy: stores where people don't want to buy things
The Conservatives are doing slightly better than expected and there are a lot of close races if you want to stress over the approximately zero information we have right now with me
I mostly post about very local transportation issues in SF and car free life and activism, sometimes other interests like fibre arts or like a cool tree that I saw. I generally won't approve follows from strangers with too few posts for me to see what you're about. If I followed you cause you post art or something, you're welcome to follow back, but it's fine if you don't want to hear about bike lanes.Originally from Canada.
