My 1.5yr old kid is obsessed with the moon. He asks for it all the time, so we try to bring him outside and show it to him. Of course it's not always visible and he gets sad.

Due to Reasons I happen to have a galaxy projector that also has a built-in pico projector in order to play cheesy "3D" space videos. I figured that it probably had a micro SD card somewhere in it, which turned out to be true.

So with the help of a screwdriver and ffmpeg I've now given my kid his very own moon.

Visited Tambara last week after a break of nearly a decade. The main lavender fields were in full bloom, but late flowering varieties were still in the budding stage, so the floral display will probably last into early August.

I prefer to hand schedule it all or most of it.
Because software doesn't know people, really.
It doesn't know if I put Malcolm and George in the same class they will end up in yet another fight. It doesn't know Erika is not going to do well in a class with a very rigid teacher, but needs a very socially responsive teacher, but Hans will do better in a very structured teacher's classroom.

It doesn't know Mr. Brown always moves the bottom quartile students in math the farthest, and Miss Mahmoody knows how to push the top twenty percent to make big gains.

It doesn't know if we put those six kids in the same class, it is going to make that teacher quit. It doesn't know Ms. Chen is a first year teacher or that Mr. Jean is an experienced strong veteran.

If I can hand schedule I can prevent a host of discipline issues, prevent violence, suspensions, strategically boost test scores, keep teachers happy, build a safe place for all kids, and meet an absolute flood of requirements.
