@dansup glad you’re making this work! I have a suggestion to reduce friction further, if you’d like to hear it. You could write text that only shows up just in the new email notification like “your login code is 123456”. That way the user wouldn’t even need to open the email to get the code - they could just glance at the notification. Engineers I’ve worked with said they’ve done this by writing text that’s invisible at the top of the email body.
Sent my public #Pixelfed profile to my sister the other day. "Ohhh, what is this, is this like a social media where they don't track you? Because I am so tempted to give up Instagram. This is so cute!" My sister is in no way a tech nerd or particularly big on data privacy, and has been a heavy user of Instagram for as long as I can remember. There are so many people out there who want to post photos and videos important to them online, but are jaded by #Instagram.
