@goatsarah I understand that. I probably won’t stay here into retirement. It’s not great here. There was a by-election here yesterday in Medway and Reform took two of the three seats. The writing is on the wall.
A friend of mine from the States asked me if I’d been keeping up with what’s going on in #politics. I responded with this:
“ I've been watching the coverage (mostly from Hasan). I'll never return to live in the USA, but part of my heart will always be there because of the people I love. I think a lot about James Baldwin, and why he left France to head back to the USA. A lot of what he said about that was about the culture of his people (black people) that he missed.” (1/8)
“I have no desire like that to go and fight there for (white/queer) people. Even a lot of queer culture in the USA is steeped in corporatism and white supremacy. “
“Getting out of the country has cleared my head on so much. I've missed people, but the culture as a whole that I lived in? Fuck no. I'm old, tired, and a lot of the fire I had to fight is behind me.“ (2/8)
“Maybe I should be ashamed to say that, but the fatigue of the weight of the world and what's coming just makes me even more tired. The abuse from that culture, just for wanting to be me and live (because I'm visibly #transgender ) has felt like being under someone's boot. I'm still in danger here in the UK, but never to the extent I've felt in the USA (and especially Indiana). “ (3/8)
I have a limit on social media in terms of time wasters. Early on in the thread Josh made use of the “not all Zionists” defence.
I’ve seen this used before in other contexts. There’s the “not all radical feminists are TERFs” defence, the “Not all white people” defence and the most recent “not all men” defence when speaking about violence against women. https://mstdn.social/@nus/113008107373712083
Repost: I had someone recently say that because I won't vote for #genocideJoe that “you're on the hook for all the mess that Trump makes because you're a Trump apologist” ( I'm voting 3rd party).
It's the absolute audacity of these #genocide supporters that gets me. They are the epitome of the white moderate that MLK spoke of. This is what they ALREADY support: https://t.me/eyeonpal/8112
(Someone reported this post to the admin of my Mastodon instance… Which is me lol. So I’m gonna repost this every single day for while. Stay mad genocide supporters) #votebluenomatterwho#freepalestine
@dangillmor christ this is dishonest. Yes Biden has stammered and is not a good speaker but his performance in the debate was much much worse. He was incoherent.
I may not like Trump and I may think that he is very unintelligent, but that’s not the same thing as Biden. You literally have sources inside the White House confirming that the president is not doing well cognitively. #bluemaga
@AnthonyJK frankly I'm tired of this #votebluenomatterwho BS. If you’re only going to offer Genocide Joe, you’re going lose. He’s done nothing with the power he’s been given even though people did vote blue no matter who. It didn’t stop him from being an unrepentant Zionist or increasing funding for police. he hasn’t done Jac shit for the #LGBT community.
If Trump becomes president again, the only person that you can blame is Democrats.
@AnarchoNinaAnalyzes I'm fatigued by all of it. The same people that will masturbate holding the flag in one hand while singing, “I’m proud to be an American”. They don’t want marginalised people to exist, but if they do they want them to suffer.

I'm a health care provider, a trans activist, blogger, political strategist, and have a history of grassroots political organising. I'm probably best known as the founder of Transadvocate.com.
