@BrodieOnLinux I know I'm overblowing it a fair bit, but please never say "just buy it" when talking about anything from Russia, esp. the Russian government. It funds the war.

Also, StaliLinux having Stalin's face on Tux is... The same as if there was HitleLinux with Hitler.

@BrodieOnLinux I know it's not really the point, but... A premium forum doesn't make much sense. A forum's usability directly relies on the forum's popularity — the more people, the more content. A premium forum will always have less members. At best it will always be empty and people will just go for the free one, and at worst it will divide one useful forum into two useless forums making the experience worse for everyone.

@BrodieOnLinux yeah, I'm pretty much the same, almost to the letter. Idk what your doxxers expected, I assume there are a lot of people who were on the path to alt-right and jumped to being center-left at the last moment. Exposure is the key to this jump, and we must keep it available for people who haven't jumped just yet.

@BrodieOnLinux no, I meant the borders inside the window, as in the colored lines around separate parts of the application.

@BrodieOnLinux the shell looks great, but the apps look a fair bit too old with the default colors and all the borders and what not. Especially in light mode. Speaking as a GNOME fanboy ofc.

@BrodieOnLinux @SuperGaytor this has nothing to do with the "d" in "systemd". It is the good old naming convention for daemon programs.

@BrodieOnLinux all this time I wondered what braille displays would look like, but you just had to spoil the fun and actually show me a picture. You took yet another piece of magical thinking from my life... I'm kidding of course. Also I still have no clue how they work, so I can stay ignorant all I want.

@BrodieOnLinux @gboncoffee reading up on this issue #1797 I've got the idea that his changes are mostly junk code style improvements that break everything, and that he's been given enough chances. The following comment is especially insightful:
    https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/-/issues/1797#note_2804024

I don't entirely rule out the possibility that this project actually does something tangible, but I would also be surprised if it will.

@aral sorry, I meant "we" as in Ukrainians. What I mean is, it's fine to be mad at Israel, Eurovision, politicians, etc. But saying "fuck you" to regular folk who just watch the show is, at least, not practical — you'll only madden them at yourself, not Eurovision or Israel.

We, Ukrainians, generally don't get mad at viewers of shows where Russia isn't banned. We try to do our best educating them, and we pity those who don't listen.

@aral there are many sports-related shows/contests/whatever that still allow Russian athletes to participate either under a "neutral flag" or even under their own genocidal flag.

As you can guess, Ukrainians hate the guts of these shows' organizers, and the fact that genocide supporters are allowed to participate.

And yet, we don't scream "fuck you" to everyone who watches them. We don't have anything against viewers — because there's a big ass difference there.

And yes, Russia kills no less.

@BrodieOnLinux if you mean taking the projects themselves proprietary, then that's not what's likely to happen for system-level stuff. So I guess I agree with you there. What's likely tho, is that this can be used by others to spin off proprietary linux distributions without much issues. But GPL never really stopped Google, so I doubt that's very bad either.

@BrodieOnLinux IMHO that's a valid concern, although not as an "evil plan". But I believe there's enough important BSD/MIT software to say it is relatively safe to have it.

I mean, the BSDs are still a thing no matter if they were ripped off for proprietary systems multiple times.

@BrodieOnLinux I'm not buying it. Unlike GPL, they just set a condition that's practically impossible to comply with, just so they can offer an alternative license. It isn't a license meant to be followed, it is a license meant to force some users (hosting providers) into a different proprietary license.
