@sortius oh man, the shit I’ve been reading that makes it so abundantly clear that everything they act like they’re scared of now was something they’ve gone to great effort to create not just for themselves but the rest of us to deal with, not just in recent decades, but for well over a century. They made this go as badly as it’s gone. The last straw for me was a 1922 book by the American diplomat who foresaw & tried to stop Pearl Harbour (and very nearly did). They wanted this.

Can you explain what you mean by the original toot? I read it like 3 times but I’m only half-sure I understand what you mean by the second bit. (I am 200% not being a jerk, I really actually feel like I get it! I don’t act like that on socials, I hate that shit.. sincerity only. 😊 )

@selzero I don’t even get what Joe Rogan is and where he came from before podcasts. I’ve never listened to his show. What’s the appeal? Like, is he an expert in anything at all?

@frogglin @glittercleric I was sitting in the doctor’s waiting room this morning and saw the footage of them all cheering. I had to explain to my 10 year old daughter, who has disclosed consistently her non-hetero status and support for human rights, why the women were all doing their stupid victory dancing like they just pushed all the chess pieces over and strutted around the chessboard like they won.

I’m sitting outside in the dark at 5:04am and I just heard a large bird in the tree do a sneeze. 😂

A flying fox came to my patio! That’s a first. Lived here over nine years and haven’t had that before. Scared the shit outta me, mind you. The noises they make are very sudden if you’re not expecting it. I’ve just got frogs singing in my garden otherwise so it was like, “reep reep reep reep reep {{{HEY YOU GOT ANY BUG OR FLOWERS?!}}}

Some mates & I have started a new jazz open mic night in our old cosy local theatre. It’s only our second one tonight & it’s pouring rain. I really really hope the rain doesn’t scare ppl away because we still have pay the hire fee for the theatre whether or not anyone shows up. 😭😭😭😭 In case you’re from around here or the Blue Mountains it’s at the Regent Theatre in Richmond and it starts at 7:30pm. $10 concession/pensioner and $15 general. There’s totally a snack bar and big velvety curtains.

In 2010, my eldest had a babysitter who asked if we might adopt her cat. Next minute, we had a snarling, frightened cat in our living room. Each time I tried to touch him, he hissed & spat. It became clear he had been beaten.

For the next 10yrs he came to trust us but still got mad if I patted him. For the past 3yrs tho, it’s been different. He learned to love again, and be loved.

Now my littlest is the same age that my eldest was the day he joined us.

Yesterday it was time to say goodbye.

Just as my eldest had saved his life and welcomed him, my youngest held him on the way to euthanise him.

A life saved became a life of service to our family. At 14, the old ginger has been laid to rest today in his favourite garden.

Given the chance, and ten or so years, even the worst-abused can learn to love again. I don’t know if I cry more coz he’s gone or coz his story is mine. I’m just happy for him. He got to live, to trust & be trusted, before having a good death surrounded by family.
