Does anyone else have their favourite video game change all the time? Usually to whatever they’re playing at the moment?

That’s how it usually goes for me. My choice varies based on what I’m playing, and the same goes for my favourite game soundtrack too.

My opinion on the plans for #Threads becoming part of the #Fediverse is honestly pretty positive: I like the idea of not needing to maintain a presence on multiple Twitter substitutes.

Honestly I kinda wish #BlueSky was a Fediverse service too… having all 3 here probably be enough to put Twitter out of commission and make it irrelevant overnight.

Am I the only one who finds questions like “what are your favourite [subject]?” impossible to answer?

I just can’t avoid overthinking these types of questions. Same with things like “if you had only one [thing] to watch/read/play on a desert island/for the rest of your life, what would it be?”

Again, I end up thinking of every possibility into the most literal sense possible, and can’t answer.

Me: well, that was a nice uneventful day! Got some video editing done, now off to sleep…

Just a quick tip for anyone making games, drawing art, writing books, or doing any other form of creative work…

Don’t just post about your stuff in artist/creator focused spaces, since other artists and creators are not your audience.

Just putting it out there, since a lot of people end up only promoting their work to other creators, then wondering why they’re not doing so well…

TIL that I was born in the same year as two Mario games… Super Mario World in Japan and Super Mario Bros 3 in the US.

Seems like something that could mean something entirely different depending on the time of the week/month/current part of your life.

I’ll just compare to the day before I got Zelda Tears of the Kingdom!

Now I look at it, I think the reason I prefer #Mastodon to #Threads is that average Joes are basically invisible on the latter: almost every recommended post I get is from an ‘influencer’ or ‘celebrity’.

At least here the majority of posts in topics I care about are by regular people sharing their interests and having fun.

So, do folks in the #SEO industry think #Google is working well? Or do they see the poor quality results it’s returning and somehow assume their own industry isn’t responsible for most of that?

@jahed fair point, Google has a huge part to play too. Not letting users filter out particular sites is ridiculous, and why Kagi is doing so well at the moment. Meanwhile the obsession with trying to ‘second guess’ your search by removing useful tools like quotes, hyphens, etc or finding terms that only have one word is terrible too.

But SEO does play a role as well. Constantly making new pages to rank for terms that you have nothing to say about clogs up the listings.
