Over the years I have been developing a pretty severe distaste for Figma, without getting into it too much, it does a lot of little things that just make it feel hostile to the platform, if the platform being designed for is the web.

https://penpot.app/ looks like it might address a lot of that. Curious if others have tried it and seen any of the advertised benefits play out.

Besides the tone though, what is "clearly better" for devs is not always what is most popular. Suggest what you like, obviously it is your prerogative, but others aren't stupid for pointing out that other options in the category "free and open source" also exist

@killyourfm @ernie If you have a AMD or intel graphics card that you will basically never even have to think about graphic driver install or upgrades cause it is all built in is maybe worth touching on. overlaps with that upgrades not headache and gaming is easy stuff

Most waterways and bodies of water I have encountered here are not doing well. Local government very captured, Feds bodies kept it in check a lil bit, but with Chevron discarded they are probably kneecapped and big ag cos will be taking them to court now I'd bet, so the shits just getting deeper most likely

@aral kooha what I have used and been pretty happy with for short screen recordings. Has options for quality and frame rate and file type output - Gif webm MP4 etc.

Our 10yr old has gotten ***REALLY*** into mechanical watches & clocks to the point he's on the verge of starting a side gig repairing them. He mentions his hobby to everyone, and a lot of folks have a not-quite-working item sitting around. He's fixed a number of them.

He has had a tough time with an civil war era pocket watch, but was finally able to salvage a compatible part from somewhere, and he got it ticking today. He was so proud, and wants to share with everyone.
