@malwaretech the thing is, I don’t find that to be true anymore. I had a mastodon.xyz account dormant since 2017(?). Back then the interest based communities were way too niche. Today I can find cycling, art, animation, etc communities and even people talking about sports. I feel like mastodon has quietly gained critical mass and while it has its issues that should be addressed, it’s worth celebrating the fact that it’s mostly “community ready” now 🥳

@lohang unfortunately this is more of a cultural thing than a technological limitation. Full text search is not a fondly supported idea in the fediverse so it’s unlikely that any tools that introduce it in a must-opt-out fashion will likely be blocked or shut down.
