Given how much I depend on the #editButton, Mastodon should really change the 'Publish' button to be a "share my draft" button instead.

*For non-Canadians, the "yellow" size of the the square-drive system is a very tiny one, the next steps upwards being green, red and black.

I've heard rumours of a size smaller than yellow, but those were only vague words spoken in the dark of night, in dimly lit alleyways.

@iko I like to point out that in the battle between Imperial and metric, cups and spoons are neutral.

As a Canadian I've long ago dropped gallons, quarts, pints and ounces (fluid and weight - WTF was that?), but still embrace cups and spoons along with my grams and milliliters.

Cups and spoons are neutral, object-oriented and coexist nicely with the sanity of metric. One cup as 250ml is key info.

Cups and spoons are just things we have handy, and still allow us to fully use metric along side them.

@ipg their square USDDB 'type B' connector is interesting. It's a grey-blue colour but not larger at all – all the extra contacts fit because it's bigger on the inside.

Is it just me, or do you see that too? When using the #Mastodon #WebInterface, if you click on a follower the "Follows You" badge at the top left of the profile view (above their avatar) is black text on a nearly-black background?

That's probably not optimal.

Wasn't there a #masto account you could follow that would nag you if you forgot the ALT text on an image? That would be a handy feature if it doesn't exist already.

Nice! I just tried out #Tusky's new ability to add ALT text for an image after you've posted it already. The edit function now allows that.

You can also edit fix typos in there of course.

I hate it when I forget to add ALT text and discover it days later.

@dgar another technique that works is to take a picture when it's new and save it until you need it after a couple of years.

I remember seeing tiny cement-mixer trucks and small fire-engine trucks in Japan. Both could be very useful here. Don't know why *we* don't use them when they could be so useful for certain circumstances.

@dasUnicorn wonder if they modify that for EVs?

Could end up backfiring on the transition away from fossil fuels if it deters the uptake of battery-powered vehicles which are typically heavier.
