Shot in the dark, but does anyone have a Shortcut that converts a file to .mp3?

I do this quite often with .m4a files, but my workflow is:

- open m4a in Fission for Mac
- export file as mp3

It's not terrible, but it really feels like this should be automated, and I'm kinda surprised Fission doesn't support shortcuts at all.

PS when on iOS, I do basically the same thing with Ferrite, although it's numerous more steps in the app in that case.

Am I crazy or are Apple’s changes based on the DMA actually quite good? Their press release is as sassy as I’ve ever seen from them, but the changes seem to be positive to me on first read.

My wife: do you know anything about this NameDrop thing? I keep seeing posts online about it just giving my info to random people on the street? This sounds crazy.

The FUD around NameDrop this past week has been wild. My wife is a teacher and there’s apparently a far that this will give students their teachers’ home address just by being in the same room. Truly embarrassing coverage on this one.

I'm still so pleased with the Mastodon 4.2 update that bumped hashtags at the end of post below the rest of the content. Great job, @Gargron and team 🙌

Lots of comments recently on my channel from people immediately NOPEing on an app with a subscription.

I'm starting to feel like the App Store wrecked people's expectations for what software they can use with basically zero cost. When everything was like $1-5, you could buy every single cool app that people talked about, and not really feel the pain.

Downside is most companies could not sustain themselves on that little revenue, so many didn't make it.

Also, I cringe every time I put hashtags in my posts. I hate them with a passion. It’s not a Mastodon thing, I hated them on Twitter, I hate them on Instagram, and I hate them here equally.

It would be great if I could tag my posts with labels (like blogs) so that they’re categorized, but don’t impede the reading experience. Also, hashtags must be so annoying for people with screen readers, no?
