The next iOS release, specifically its keyboard, will decide whether I’ll stay with Apple, or switch to Samsung
I’m this close to doing it already. The only thing stopping me is my phone being relatively new (15 Pro)

Guys, I have a revolutionary new idea on how to solve traffic and make travel more accessible
First, we take multiple cars and have them drive behind one another
Next, to make them faster, we build a special lane for them so they aren’t slowed by other traffic
Then, to save on fuel, we have them drive on low-friction metal tracks. As a bonus, they can now go 3x faster
And finally, to make it even cheaper, we introduce a model where you can rent a seat, so you don’t even need to pay for a car
Do you struggle with modern slang? Are you confused by stuff like "level 5" and "rizzler"?
If yes, my new app is right for you! Rizzference has just entered public TestFlight, so give it a try before anyone else: https://testflight.apple.com/join/hSVtJLRj
It can:
- Pull slang out of an entire sentence + define multiple words at once
- Do 👆 through Shortcuts
- Show multiple possible definitions for words
- Run on #iOS and #macOS
Built in #SwiftUI for iOS 17 and macOS 13
NEW VERSION OF MLEM IS OUT
This update is big, and there's more coming later! This update addresses these issues:
- New icon by the amazing clay! Stay tuned for more icons, including Pride! In the future, you will be able to choose between lots of icons, and submit your own
- A whole bunch of crashes related to loading communities
- Some posts showing multiple times in the feed
- (Hopefully) accounts being deleted between app launches
- A few issues logging in

@developerjustin @mastowatch Sick! Are you using the HTTP or WebSocket backend?
@developerjustin I think there definitely is a market for your client ;) Mlem is login-only, so I think if you really focus on your client being very lightweight and not requiring users to log in, it will find its footing for sure!
I was asking about the backend because Mlem is using WebSockets which are going away soon, and I’m really struggling with the HTTP backend, so I wanted to ask if you’d like to cooperate 😄
The first version of Mlem, the iOS Lemmy client, is out on TestFlight!
While it's still missing many core features, such as creating posts and comments, among others, this release is what I'd consider the "bare minimum" for an alpha release.
Feel free to join! I'd appreciate any feedback and ideas.

Shoutout to @csilverman, @dougburns, @douglawlor and @metaltoilet! Come get it 😉
Roadmap: https://blog.davidbures.cz/first-version-of-mlem-is-out/
Today in Mlem: I have adjusted the look of links. Previously, they had no preview and had a solid background, whereas now, they look a little bit nicer in my opinion 😊
Tell me what you think!
The first TestFlight version will be coming very soon.
Mlem also has its own community where you can hang out: https://lemmy.ml/c/mlemapp. I'll see you there!
I have to give a huge shoutout to @robertvh for creating https://mastometrics.com/. Truly a marvelous product, looking at lines going up and down has never been so fun!
It also helped me discover that I must've said something controversal on April 15th, which made me lose like 6 followers in two days 😂
@robertvh @kissane Great article, I agree with everything @kissane mentioned
I've seen the same attitude the holier-than-thou Mastodon advocates have in the Linux community. Like, seriously, my 45-year-old mom doesn't give a shit about "decentralization" and "open-source virtues", she just wants to sign up and get talking, and it's this market Mastodon must target
If this doesn't change, Mastodon will just stay niche, the same way Linux is. inb4 "This is the year of Mastodon on the desktop!"
@robertvh @kissane I find it funny how Erin mentioned that you sometimes sometimes need to do three things to follow someone. When I first started using Mastodon last year, I tried to follow someone on a different instance. Because I got to their profile through a direct link, I couldn't just press "follow" (God forbid that open source projects are user-friendly)
I've been using computers since I was 5 and I never figured it out. I still can't do it. It's such a stupid oversight.
