I did gasp when Trump brought up eating dogs, and then defended it because it was on TV. He really is running on an old-man-yelling-at-the-television platform.

Trump is getting actively dumber through this

I feel like Charlottesville is a bit overdone though. She should have named one of the officers who died

She's not as reactive so it's harder for me to tell which of her times are rebuttals

Maybe we should? I don't know, maybe not?

I really wish Kamala had pushed harder on Trump to answer the abortion ban veto question. It could have been a moment, because any answer will hurt him a lot

Ian Bicking (ianbicking@hachyderm.io)'s status on Wednesday, 11-Sep-2024 13:52:25 JST Ian Bicking I really want Walz to say something like this in his first remarks at the Walz/Vance debate:
Vice President debates didn't usually mean much. And if Kamala Harris is elected it's her character that will define the presidency, not mine. But you should pay attention tonight. Because if Donald Trump wins the election you can be pretty confident that within two years, when Trump's mental decline can no longer be ignored, the man next to me will inherit the presidency. #debatefanfic

I'm very disappointed that this will probably be the only debate. Unless somehow the Harris campaign manages to bait him, which isn't out of the question after tonight

I love Kamala's intense stare at Trump. A man could never do that, it would read wildly differently.

Ian Bicking (ianbicking@hachyderm.io)'s status on Wednesday, 11-Sep-2024 10:37:47 JST Ian Bicking Trump is definitely getting shook.
I realize I am not worried about Kamala making any big misstep in the debate. She might do better or worse but she isn't going to make a mistake.
It was a fair critique that I couldn't say that for Biden, and it does seem like a good qualification for a president

Ian Bicking (ianbicking@hachyderm.io)'s status on Tuesday, 03-Sep-2024 09:59:29 JST Ian Bicking The movie "Molli and Max in the Future" was pretty fun; a gonzo sci-fi version of When Harry Met Sally.
I'm trying to think of other sci-fi movies like that... Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy of course (though I've never really enjoyed the adaptations). Fifth Element, Galaxy Quest, Barbarella, Buckaroo Bonzai...
There's some more dystopian ones like Brazil, Moon, Zardoz...
