I’d like to use a messenger other than WhatsApp but it’s hard enough to persuade the people I interact with to open accounts with it - as for telegram and the others, forget it. Not a single person I have told about these is interested or can be bothered. They can be as private and secure as you like but if nobody is installing their apps what is the point.

When I last used the server to access Mastodon I would go to (say) "Home" and the post on top was/is more or less where I left off (5h ago, 1d ago etc) and I had to scroll and scroll to find current posts. I would like it to always be up to date ... or has it already been fixed and I am behind the curve again?

@feditips I only moved to an app (Ice Cubes) because logging in at my server does not make it easy to quickly see the latest posts - Ice Cubes has that as a feature. If I have not beed near Mastodon for a day I don't want to scroll through hundreds of posts to catch up ... or is there a better solution to that?
