in the past 6 years, the little league baseball community has lost 3 men who were long-time coaches in the community

for two, the community received emails announcing the deaths, along with information about memorial services & dedications

for the third, who took his own life, there has been zero public mention to the little league community that he was such a big part of

he's been disappeared

we need to normalize this kind of suffering or we'll keep suffering from it

@actuallyautistic @darrellpf yes. When I do something like that (say, vacuuming or mowing the lawn), I am constantly thinking of what I’m doing and how to get to the next thing. I develop and fine-tune the process until it’s right and then that’s how I do it 💯

the routine means I don’t have to reconsider the process next time, which I WILL do until & unless I’ve internalized it (where I can remember it automatically) but I’m still aware of it “next, I will…” “remember to…” etc

a competitive rowing sprint is always 2000 meters. this has been the standard for more than a hundred years, across all levels of the sport.

this completely changes the event. this is stupid. this is not the most important or pressing problem in the world but I am shocked. wtf, capitalism?

I was talking w a friend this week about how we use social media and for me, I stay away from platforms (or do more lurking) when too many of my IRL friends become social media friends, bc while I crave some connection, I need to keep some of it at a distinct distance. Also I crave small, often crowded poetry scenes, but hate bigger crowds or 1-on-1 interaction
