@mario that looks fun! I have a photo of a pro-equal-marriage campaign poster from a bar I visited in Taipei a few years ago, while it was still in contention. Always nice to see evidence that you're drinking in a good place.
Use cheap basic bike lights for years, no problem. Win a set of expensive fancy lights that are supposed to have a limp home mode, and they just stop working with no warning while I'm cycling through central London.
The problem appears to be that they added technology. These lights even have Bluetooth, for some inexplicable reason! More technology means more bugs.
@mario It's not uncommon to write it in kanji, but they're just ateji chosen to match the meaning. The etymology is quite interesting, from kawahayushi ("shameful") shifting in meaning to "pitiable" to "deserving compassion" to "loveable".

@mario In general life, I think Western dates are more common, but governmental bureaucracy more often uses era.
Using era for date of birth in conversation is pretty common among my age group (you might also see it written as e.g. S39 in your case) but I'm not sure about younger people.
Listening to a cheery Japanese City Pop compilation while I fight with programming this morning. It's helping my mood, and it seems to be bringing me luck in the endless struggle against bugs.
@mario I agree. I found the leagues were really distorting my behaviour so I turned my account to private to opt out. Now the only gamification I have is the daily goals and the streak. The goals tend to encourage me to do a little extra study, so they're effective. The streak keeps me doing at least something every day.
@mario Yeah, with three stages that's inevitable! Did you see GGGOLDDD? They were supposed to be support when I saw MONO last time, but they had to cancel due to illness.
I play instruments, I fix instruments, I make electronics, I write software. Please feel free to respond to my posts in any way you like. I welcome your advice and experiences!#guitar #bass #shamisen #三味線 #sanshin #三線 #synth #eurorack #synthDIY #pedalDIY #ruby #language
