@threedaymonk absolutely. I've been commuting with a very cheap pair of USB-powered bike lights for quite a few years, and they just work. Judging from how many other people have the same lights, I'm not alone. (I'm not proud though, they're a set I bought cheaply from Amazon).

Paul (threedaymonk@sonomu.club)'s status on Sunday, 19-Nov-2023 08:33:30 JST Paul Use cheap basic bike lights for years, no problem. Win a set of expensive fancy lights that are supposed to have a limp home mode, and they just stop working with no warning while I'm cycling through central London.
The problem appears to be that they added technology. These lights even have Bluetooth, for some inexplicable reason! More technology means more bugs.
