@ColleenDoran Holy hell! I am in awe of your ability to set enough blocks to make it work. I don't have the same need and I am glad because trying to cut my use down that thoroughly would hurt. I am glad you have someone who will watch for you. It's an important role. Good luck with it, and I will never wish we saw more of you online again. I know it's not good for you. Stay well.
@Sharr0w Your experience has informed my actions and responses for 4 years. It has bolstered my position when I weaken on it. I can not say how much I am sorry this happened to you. I hope the next year brings you such improvement that you don't need to visit a hospital for your health and get to fully enjoy each day.
@bellinghman The important question is who got the right to the design when clarecraft closed.... and would it be appropriate for Erik or someone to show up with an anorak to a discworld?? Erik seems a likely candidate though Mort more appropriate....
@kithrup the downside is the romance side of things - it never actually produces the HEA so I get irritated and stop reading. It's always "will they won't they" or "torn between 2" ETC. And there's no sign in the blurbs of the big resolution to the dark magic thing. So I will, despite finding them entertaining, probably stop at 2.
Best as I can tell, over on bluesky one of these got me blocked last year by 6 people, same day. No idea why. Favour: if you are going to block me, let me know why. I won't argue- I just wanna understand.
This series is so good that I am comfortable giving out the middle one -- if you haven't read it, I *strongly* recommend going out and getting A DEADLY EDUCATION (which is about €4.50 right now, I think) so you can read this one. And then get the third one.
*Please* share this giveaway any way you can, because the UK/IE books are very hard for me to get out enough. Not enough UK/IE followers, I presume, as opposed to any inherent mistrust of free books. 😄
Cached US Kindle giveaway: 6 copies of @nkjemisin's The Fifth Season (The Broken Earth Book 1), which didn't win nearly enough awards (even though it won all of them). To say it's powerful would be an understatement, a failing of my ability to articulate thoughts into words. Ironically, *not* a problem Jemisin has. There are 2 sequels to this, equally as good. If you haven't read it, you should; if you have read it, find someone who hasn't and get them to read it.
