@botvolution stuff that failed only if you fed it ridiculous input. I changed something where that was happening and it annoyed me that it wasn't detected. And yeah I fixed it
What a buggy day. I found a bunch of them. One of them had been there for decades.
@botvolution ah
@botvolution Linux?
Nothing else I do pegs the CPU like transcoding with ffmpeg
I suppose upgrading from my old 4-core Athlon II could conceivably make a difference. Performance improvement-wise, that is.
@botvolution Yeah maybe. I hadn't heard that term before but I correctly inferred what you were getting at. I had considered doing something like that at the router level. The pi-hole looks interesting.
Trying to read some web pages on the Chromebook where I don't have ublock origin installed and I'm being inundated with ads and pop-ups. How do people tolerate this? I don't object to ads. I object to the ways they make them extremely annoying. Animation, pop-ups, sounds, interruptions. I do object to tracking which is why I use ublock and everywhere else. The Chromebook has some other flaky things too. I should investigate the Linux mode.
@hellomiakoda and with the moire pattern
@hellomiakoda Come to NH, we have it here ;)
Here's a photo of the snow cleared by me sliding on my butt after I fell down, as described earlier. I call it "my trail of rears" and I'm so happy with that pun that I felt I had to share. ;)
@botvolution I'll have to be doubly mindful of geyser eruptions
I watched an episode of "Travel Man" where they went to Iceland, and looked at the geysers. They pronounced it "geezer" -- I knew the words are related, but I hadn't ever heard it pronounced that way. Maybe it's common in England?
I thought I was on better terms with the word "geezer" than this.
Ga ga ga ga ga me with a spoon
@botvolution yeah could have been a mid-air attack. We have Hawks and owls and eagles and various birds of prey around here. I've seen them hunting and hanging out.
There are no windmills in sight.
It looks like a bird exploded over my house. Or some other equally ridiculous explanation. I was having a look out the porch and looked back at the house and I see feathers attached to the shingles at the edge of the roof, as if a bird had a crash landing alongside the eave.
This is not a very clear image, it's from the inside looking through glass. I tried getting something from the outside but the angle is even worse. I could get a ladder but the light is fading and my bones are aging. #bird
@botvolution Nor gne nor mbo either ;)
colo center. Some would insist on "collo" and "collocation."
