    Consumption and the Antilibrary
Umberto Echo had a famously large library of 30,000 books most of which he knew he’d never read. When asked about his huge library he’d correct people calling it his antilibrary, a resource for all the things he didn’t know. It wasn’t about showing off all the books he had read, because he already had the knowledge from those books. It wasn’t abo

Chris – Blogs are for Humans
I agree with Chris the more of the writer is in the blog the more I'm interested. Yes I want to hear about your golf weekend with kids, or your struggle with technology or your garden. Yes I do want to read your longer writing that more philosophical.

I want to read interesting things from people.

Escape the Noise with Molly White’s RSS recommendations
Molly White has a long list of RSS feeds to recommend if you're looking to read more online but don't want to get pushed into whatever big tech algorithms think you should read. Thanks to Matt for pointing these out to me.

    Matt on Professional Tools
Matt contends that professional tools need 3 things:

    Reliability

    Predictability

    Flexibility

This is why I stick with NeoVim. It just works the way it's supposed to work all the time and doesn't update with new tools (like some AI shit) because the company thinks it needs to get AI into its tools.

Finally, I can create any workflow I want.

How are you monitoring the status of various services you use with sites?

We have MailGun, Kubernetes, Elastic....and I'd love to see a single dashboard where I can monitor the status of them all.

@chris @shawnhooper @dustinrue have you looked at Statamic?

I used it for a few years on my personal site and liked many things about it. I didn't have time to dig into Laravel though so I ended up moving back to WP because it was familiar...not because I loved it.

    The iPad isn’t a Mac
Jason Snell speaking about the reveal of what would become the M series chips in the iPad Pro:

But that boast also drew the iPad into direct comparisons with PC laptops, and while its sheer hardware power might have defeated most of those laptops, power isn’t everything. It’s what you do with the power. And in many ways, that’s been the story of the iPad Pro si

@aral I was looking at this tablet today. It does look nice but I don't have time/money to kill on payment issues.
