#DailyLaws February 14 Move Towards Resistance I never saw it back then but my approach to drawing was all wrong I skipped the pencil work: no structure, no foundation. Just straight to ink, trying to force a finished product out of something I didn't even build. No composition, no vanishing points, no thought to light sources or form. My skills warped around that shortcut, leaving entire areas underdeveloped.
Stopped calling half-baked work good enough. I became my own harshest critic, forcing myself to break things down to roughs, to think in 3D before committing to ink. That's where the real discipline of drawing is. The part most people avoid. The perverse satisfaction of working past frustration.
Then something clicked. I could draw anywhere, any time, under any conditions. Public, private, chaos, silence. Didn't matter. The focus locked in & the results came fast.
These identities assumes whiteness operates on a spectrum, from the unapologetically dominant to the active dismantler. Goes from 1. Architect 2. Bystander 3. Polished defender of "equality" 4. Quiet beneficiary 5. Performative Ally 6. Interrogator 7. Saboteur 8. Endgame
White Traitor: the turncoat who calls out the system, shatters the silence & works to undermine white authority from the inside out. No half-measures, no safe bets. Just raw truth-telling & sabotage with no regard for personal cost. These are the ones needed to tear down the institutions that built the regime.
White Abolitionist: the relentless dismantler, tearing down whiteness at its roots & reshaping institutions so it cannot claw its way back. No compromise, no half-hearted reforms. Just the complete & permanent undoing of the system.
Which Whitey are you? The 8 White Identities* improved
White Supremacist: A blatantly rigged game where white society crowns itself king, scripts the rules & stacks the deck to ensure its superiority stays carved in stone.
White Voyeurism: the passive spectator who won't dare confront White Supremacy but leans in for the spectacle. Craving non-whiteness as entertainment, they consume it for pleasure, fascination or trend-chasing while keeping a safe distance from the struggles & scars it carries. It's the thrill of sampling Black culture w/o ever wearing the weight of Blackness.
White Privilege: the polished veneer of "fairness" & "equality" draped over an unshakable commitment to whiteness as the default setting. Might critique Supremacy in whispers, but only to protect its own image. Holy Grail is diversity, as long the rules, the rulers & the stage remains comfortably white.
White Confessional: the performative soul-baring of whiteness, where admissions of privilege or bias are served up to POC like offerings at an altar. It's less about accountability & more about fishing for absolution or a pat on the back for "doing the work."
White Critical: whiteness turning the mirror on itself, pulling apart the machinery of its own dominance. It's an active rejection of complicity, exposing the white regime for what it is & refusing to stay silent. Whiteness speaking to whiteness, not for a medal but to dismantle the game it once played.
@sapphire They taught you to fit neatly into time slots, to digest the palatable, discard the challenging & call it education. But coddling? No, that wasn't coddling. That was training you to mistake the bare minimum for good enough. Unlearning is a brutal process, & where the real education starts, after you realize those lesson plans were more about compliance than curiosity.
Keep going. The syllabus only gets messier from here.
Perfection is a silk noose & I know way too many hanging lifeless from it. They've allowed "perfect" to strangle "good" before it even took its first breath. Their excuses pile up endlessly: I'm too busy I'm burned out It's not the right time They wear burnout & overwhelm like badges of honor, proof of a noble struggle. But peel back the layers of self-pity & you'll find one thing.
The more you binge the endless scroll of curated brilliance, the more your critic bulks up into something grotesque, a shadow on steroids. What once filtered the bad ideas for the good morphs into a jealous god, choking every spark of originality in its fists. The action guy? Gone. Drowned in a tide of overthinking. The critic sits alone at the control panel, smug in its paralysis.
Your inner critic is the customs officer between ideas & actions. The one stamping "DENIED" on half your inspirations before they ever hit the conveyor belt. A necessary evil like brakes on a runaway train, except when the critic mutates into a petty tyrant. And what mutates the critic? Media. A 24/7 intravenous drip of other people's thoughts.
Just found out that the creator of CEO playing cards got their SM accounts taken down (IG, TikTok, YouTube) & their PayPal deactivated. Got in a discussion whether this was corporate power or government power.
This so-called "interplay" btw corps & govts isn't a partnership. It's a ventriloquist act. The govt lips don't even bother moving anymore cuz corps are perfectly capable of pulling the strings themselves. Welcome to Corporate Feudalism!
Let's dissect the brilliance here. A billion dollar investment buys you a "fully expedited approvals & permits." That's code for "we're not even pretending to care about due process anymore."
Environmental approvals? Fergheddaboutit.
Who needs clean air & water when we've got a shiny new factory spitting out profits & carcinogens in equal measure?
Welcome to the age of the #kleptokakistocracy (govt by the worst people, for the benefit of the greediest).
Ah yes, the #president-elect's bold declaration: if you got a billion to burn, don't worry about pesky inconveniences like laws, environmental impact or ethics. Come on in! This isn't a policy. A red carpet rolled out for the ultrawealthy, with a flashing neon sign that reads: RULES ARE FOR POOR PEOPLE #KLEPTOKAKISTOCRACY #Kakokleptocracy
