@goatsarah if he criticised injustice when he was poor they said he was jealous and if ditto when he was rich they said he was a hypocrite and actually they just didn't want it criticised. Ish. From memory.
@goatsarah on the one hand, I agree, and on the other, there's always something funny when Brits complain about American cultural imperialism. Like a more harmless version of Irish people complaining about migration.
@goatsarah I've heard similar about Brits, not just about medicines or childcare products. I'm pretty sure Irish people do it too but I don't notice because it's in my childhood vocabulary. I tend not to do it with prescription meds but do with OTC things, especially since moving here.
@goatsarah Seems unlikely they will, it would be like expecting Brits to stop referring to calpol or savlon or lemsip or alka seltzer or hoovers or biros.
@goatsarah I remember a guy who told me you couldn't have a routing anomaly because computers only work in binary. That was in 1999. I've never forgotten how clever he knew he was.
