I got a notice from the company that administers my retirement funds, that they are in "blackout" because of a data breach. Now, ordinarily you'd assume the perpetrators were some obscure hackers or even a foreign government. Today I realized that there's no one more likely to be the crooks than the current administration. It's so easy to picture them going, "you know how much money is in those accounts?" and putting the ex-doge boys to work on it.

@toddtyrtle I am in exactly the same situation. I'm going to end up filtering out everything but people's pet pictures.

@toddtyrtle I definitely need to do that on Bsky. While I followed only those whose views are like mine, that ended up being a firehose of reporting offense after offense (because that's what's happening). *sigh* Point me toward the Shire, please.

Coworkers and I were cracking up over how we hate certain email closings like "Best" and "Warmly," so we tested out some alternatives:
"Moistly"
"Indifferently"
"Relentlessly"
"With gravest concern"
I know there are some brilliant ones out there. Tell me your best ones.
