But I guess in that case you want to add original commentary in a top level toot, not as a reply.

@mos_8502 @HunterZ Hopefully this doesn't sound like a stupid question, but isn't a quote tweet just embedding the beginning of another tweet? Am I missing some functionality from including a link to the original toot when attempting to do it on Mastodon?

On Twitter I have to click through on the Tweet to see all of it too, but I see the complaint on the lack of Quote Toots a lot.

@mos_8502 @HunterZ Ah, that makes sense. I guess you could mimic it by including a mention of the author, but that can be a pain. ?
