I had a hilarious nonverbal conversation with this robin at the parklet near the lake yesterday morning. If I were better at photo editing, I'd insert some sort of thought bubble for em on the right-hand side of this photo to capture eir purse-lipped, cranky-chicken spirit.

(If anyone out there has their own take or presumed caption, I'd love to hear it.)

So, my kitty (Fell) has decided to take up mesmerism. While I don't think she's got it all figured out yet, I'm starting to get a little nervous: I can't remember what I was doing ten minutes ago, I keep finding catnip I don't remember planting, and now, whenever anyone says my name, I compulsively refill the cat feeder. #Caturday

Roses are red.

I always love finding solitaires when I'm walking in the woods. They make a sweet, bright "tew!" like a little perimeter alarm, and they really know how to floomf up for winter. They remind me of my cat, who is likewise a fierce, adorable grey ball of floof.

Anyway, I guess solitaire's not the only game in town if you're also round enough to cue for billiards? #borb

This is one of the local Halloween trees I often pass on my hikes. Usually it is a lookout for turkey vultures, but a few mornings ago it played host to these twenty cedar waxwings.

If they deem #ICWA unconstitutional, #Indigenous families in states w/o local versions of the law will lose vital protections.

If your state has not yet codified ICWA protections, please, call your local reps & leaders & demand they pass/enforce comprehensive legislation to protect #Native sovereignty & Native families.
