@WarnerCrocker @jamesthomson and since this happened to so many Mac experts we know it isn’t “You are holding it wrong”. I wonder if I was saved because when this happened to all of you I was involved in social activities that kept me off my devices, a rare occurrence.

@WarnerCrocker I'm sure this article is missing lots of information. But I have questions.
1) What are “Super apps”?
2) Apple should allow for the cloud-streaming apps. The reasons not to approve them based on security is questionable.
3) There are cross-platform messaging apps, they are the rage outside of the US. I think they may be talking about interoperability of Messages with other messaging platforms beyond SMS.
Of course I can be wrong about everything. I’ll just go make some popcorn

@GossiTheDog We had this is the old days.
The story of the person who used a lawn mower to trim their hedges, hurt themselves, and then successfully sued the maker of the lawn mower. It isn't true.
In the 1980s a reporter investigated the story after a major insurance company put this story a full page newspaper ad to push tort reform.
There was no source for the story, no proof. It was a lie
The insurance company almost lost its license.
We've always had fake stories that spread.

@w7voa I'm not sure that even covers the cost of charging people between cc processing fees and the cost to change their infrastructure. So I agree that there are other reasons for the fee, such as getting your cc info.

@briankrebs $10,000 fines every time a driverless car blocks the way.
