You draw attention to something that many Americans seem not to get. A democratically elected government was overthrown and the prime minister Mosaddegh was murdered.
1979 was karma for the US. The real victims were Iranians who suffered under the Shah’s dictatorship.

Not voting is also choosing.
Only people who feel entitled do not vote
Non voters are giving the finger to those who died so we can vote
There are > 12 million lawful permanent residents and > 4 million felons who are not allowed to vote… and I do not know how many eligible voters are prevented from voting due to voter suppression.
It is our responsibility to vote on their behalf
This may sound paternalistic, too bad
