DOGPILING: Having multiple people Troll a target at the same time is much more effective than just doing it on your own. If you have a decent number of followers, you’ll usually be able to bring more people in just be reposting especially retarded statements the target has made, directing multiple posts at the target, or even making posts explicitly informing people that there’s a new Lolcow in town. Once more people discover the target, you’re likely to see the whole thing snowball and soon the shitlib will be gangbanged hard.
BLOCK EVASION: The single worst instance for Trolling leftists is Poast, almost all of them have preemptively blocked that particular instance, and thus won’t see your posts from there. Even big free speech instances like Baest are far less likely to be blocked, but the real stars are smaller, newer instance, which go under the radar of these retards until they’re suddenly getting their Notifications blown up. Having multiple alt accounts is also a Must, so you can continue the trolling even if your main account gets blocked.
There are other ways the target might try to salvage his or her Notifications, but they’re easily bypassed: The target might Mute what became a hellthread, but you can just start replying to other posts by the target (bonus point if lots of her faggot friends are also tagged in), tag the target into hellthreads, or start new threads with the target tagged in. Also, while the target might have certain gamer words muted, you should be able to bypass that with emojis or images containing the appropriate slurs. :lazer_n: :lazer_i: :lazer_g: :lazer_g: :lazer_e: :lazer_r:
HASHTAG NUKING: A lot of leftists/Twitter rapefugees communicate through hashtags, that’s how they find each other and gain more visibility for their posts. So naturally, you’ll want to fuck up their favorite hashtags beyond all recognition. Liberally (mis)use their hashtags, spam them with anything you know they HATE seeing, and generally render them completely unuseable.
Alternatively, you can make use of the leftist hashtags yourself to find new worthy targets, or discover new hashtags that leftists have started using.
As for the actual Trolling itself, that’s the one part I know you guys don’t need any help with, trust your instincts and just have fun! :gura_wave:
@Gargron listening to the consumers is good. But don't listen to their every demand. Especially the ones from #twittermigration. I personally want the ability to follow someone but not see their posts on my feed cause I want to add them to separate lists and only look at them at decided times
Mastodon has rejected more than five investment offers from Silicon Valley venture capital firms in recent months, as its founder pledged to protect the fast-growing social media platform’s non-profit status. (open access link) https://on.ft.com/3YSq8PU #twittermigration#mastodon
It's here...Graze for Mastodon...for :ff: Firefox!
Use Mastodon ? on desktop?
I made a browser extension to make following people, favoriting, bookmarking & boosting toots on remote instances as easy as your home instance! (1-click)!
When I worked customer support, I learned that if I could get a customer to move from “I need this solution” to “this is my problem” I was usually able to help them better, often by suggesting something other than what they originally had in mind. Getting them from “my solution” to “my problem” wasn’t always easy.
Let’s all keep this in mind when someone says “I need this Twitter feature” that Mastodon doesn’t have. #Mastodon#twittermigration
and this is a big part of why people find it hard to "join mastodon", this sets unreasonable expectations and places an impossible burden on people before they understand that the decision is not *that* important. promoting instances rather than the server software would likely have been better in this regard, but it wouldn't have made any of them sound as familiar as mastodon does now.
either way, it doesn't seem to be such a big deal. people eventually learn enough about federation and its benefits, and overcome the difficulties if they're sufficiently interested. or they will eventually get invited by their friends to join some instance and will later find out it's running mastodon ;-)

If you voted "step down as CEO" in Elon Musk's phony poll, you did something wrong.
His motivation to buy #birdsite was not to run it, but to implement his version of #freespeech. Passing the mantle now means:
* Return to being a user * Have someone else to pull the potatoes out of the fire * Transfer #legal responsibility to that someone * Stop the main drive for #twittermigration * Recover biz cred * Being the owner, still keep #twitter as a personal mouthpiece!
imagine you could use your account on one of the walled gardens to exchange messages with useds of other walled gardens. cool, eh? we call that federatoin.
now imagine you have objections of conscience to the way a billionaire runs the service, so you (or someone at your service) download the server software and start running your own version of the service, so that you can interact with useds of other services, and with those who remain on the service you no longer wish to use. we call that an instance of the server. you can still interact with the server software and, through it, with others, in the same ways you were used to, but your instance is not running under the billionaire's control.
now imagine you find you were not so happy with the ways the server interacted with you in the first place, so you (or someone at your service) modify the software running on your instance, so that it better serves you. we call this software freedom.
mastodon, like most other server software that makes up the federated network called fediverse, works like that: it interoperates with different servers, it enables you to run your own instance (or to join others', if they allow you to use them instead), and it respects your autonomy and freedom

Posting this here tonight for you all. Will post on Twitter tomorrow. We'll see if I have a Twitter account still on Tuesday. #TwitterMigration#MastodonMigration
I am a professor of linguistics at the University of Washington, where I run our Master of Science in Computational Linguistics. I work on computational approaches to syntax and the syntax-semantics interface, the role of #linguistics in #NLP, & on the societal impacts of language technology. On social media, I spend a lot of time debunking #AIhype, for which I find linguistics very useful!
There's a lot of discussion about #birdsite and #journalism right now. While we are still having ongoing conversations about how best to handle our presence there, we can say confidently that we plan on staying on Mastodon indefinitely, barring unforseen circumstances.
In just about a month, we've very clearly seen the value in our presence here, for reaching new people and having great conversations. Here's to the future of the fediverse! #SocialMedia#TwitterMigration
Your toots and boosts will automagically become tweets and re-tweets.
Just be careful what you cross-post! I posted a toot about the new #Miracleman: The Silver Age comic, brought back from the dead after 30 years by its original author #NeilGaiman (It was his first major comic, cancelled mid-series and shelved for decades under a cloud of controversy.) My re-tweet on the #Birdsite got slapped with a warning, saying it contained "sensetive content." The "sensetive content" turned out to be Neil Gaiman's Mastodon address, @neilhimself
Twitter stripped out Gaiman's information, as well as the content of the post after it.
The warning has since been removed, but the tweet still cuts off at the address, and now other cross-tweets have warnings. Caveat cross-tweeter!
@georgetakei I’m sure it was the promotion of other sites causing the great #twittermigration and definitely not twitter being bought by an egomaniac who bought it just to break it.
Earlier today Elon Musk said that my ban was temporary, 45 min later he denied my appeal to reinstate my account and confirmed that I am *permanently* banned. The email I just received says the decision cannot be reversed. I have never once violated Twitters rules or terms of service. I’ve never had a single tweet flagged, my account was permanently banned with no warning and with no reason, after I reached out to Musk for comment. #twittermigration#twitterexodus#twitter#tech#news#technews
