@badnetmask @homelab If you already have a #nextcloud deployment, I can recommend the GPodderSync app and the NextPod app. This lets you sync your podcasts and progress with #antennapod or play them from a web browser.

Ta usando Google drive? Chamadinha no Google meet? E quadro branco? Ta usando Miro? E aquela pesquinha… Google forms? Teams? Office online para docs colaborativos?

The results of yesterday's poll are in: 53% of you voted for #NextCloud – as in: the software I should showcase in my #YunoHost / #selfhosting for newbies step-by-step guide.

I've been self-hosting NextCloud for 4 months now and it has become absolutely essential to me, replacing Dropbox, Google Docs, Google Drive and WeTransfer. But it has so many more capabilities too!

I'm excited to do a show & tell.

Der #Nextcloud Desktop Client v. 4.0 ist mit einem gravierenden Bug (https://github.com/nextcloud/desktop/issues/8915) released worden. Wir empfehlen daher nicht auf die Version 4.0 zu wechseln!

@walsonde I don't know which operating system you use, but the official #Nextcloud desktop client for Windows[1][2] and macOS[3] has a feature called “Virtual Files,” which I think is exactly what you want. But I don't know if the #Linux client can do that too. And I don't know how well it works, as I don't use it.

The biggest downside of #Nextcloud for me is that it doesn't reduce the amount of local space used by my files, since it's focused on offline availability.

I on the other hand don't need the cloud to synchronise files between multiple computers but to access the dozen tb of files, that no laptop will ever be able to download with their internal 512GB drives.
And I frankly don't give a shit off that's only possible while being online since I'm never not online.

Help me out here, please! What self hosted cloud can do that with a desktop client or webdav integration in Nemo?

Essa ferramenta têm me ajudado MUITO!!

Nele a gente consegue criar quadros do tipo Kanban para gestão de projetos ou até para as tarefinhas do dia a dia. Eu tenho um quadro pessoal para minhas coisas e quadros para diferentes projetos em que me envolvo. Ajuda muito na organização.

Tem app para celular (não tãããooo otimizado para mobile, mas funciona) e no desktop uso como um webapp.

Vou tecer um fio aqui com dicas de funcionalidades do #nextcloud que me ajudam muito no dia a dia.

Espero que ajude a “espalhar a palavra” e quem sabe ajudar alguém a se convencer à abandonar as bigtechs da terra do laranjão.

Ele nada mais é do que uma implementação do fabuloso #Excalidraw, um quadro branco infinito ideal para fazer sessões de chuva ideia, oficinas on-line, planejamentos participativos, diagramas, mapas mentais e muito mais.

Uma alternativa ideal ao conhecidos Miro ou draw.io e outros!

I mention it often cause it is very much my favorite thing to do with #NextCloud files...

I just set Shortwave up again on my primary laptop (not sure how it got uninstalled). Shortwave has absolutely no syncing features. And yet... by syncing the db file via NextCloud, all my machines have the same saved stations!

I use #Floccus to sync my bookmarks with #NextCloud, and I am really losing my patience with it. Constantly, it refuses to sync and insists it'll destroy most my bookmarks. I back up, just in case, take the safety off... and no, it did not destroy a bunch of my bookmarks.
This plug in kinda sucks. I liked it because A) It synced my bookmarks with NextCloud, and B) It was browser agnostic.
But... it just never fucking works anymore.

If #Signal Messenger will be illegal in the EU, what about #Nextcloud Talk? Can several Nextcloud servers federate in such a way so when I'm using my own server I can chat with Talk users on other servers?

Or are there other viable messenger services/apps that can be used in the eu despite being illegal in the eu?

I found an issue in #NextCloud sync, and a fix, in case someone else is stuck...
If you're trying to add a sync pair and keep getting told it's already being synced even though it's not -
Go to the folder in question on your computer, reveal hidden files, and delete .nextcloudsync.log
That file is making NextCloud sync think it's currently synchronizing it via another folder pair.

I run in to this a lot on Linux Mobile.

I just put back in my phone one of my favorite things to do with #NextCloud files...
I have Shortwave on my phone and on my laptop (despite it looking dumb cause my laptop is KDE).
By syncing ~/.local/share/Shortwave/
both installs of the app have the same library of stations. I add to one, it appears in the other.

I had an opportunity to talk with Dirk Schrödter, Minister for Digitalization of Schleswig-Holstein (SH), and currently listening to SH CIO Sven Thomsen's presentation.

SH is so far ahead!! They're implementing #Linux desktops, they're already using #Nextcloud and #LibreOffice, and end of this month all their gov email will be migrated from Microsoft Exchange to #OpenXChange.
