     @Karlitschek@mastodon.social Politicians don't "understand" anything about technology, which is the whole problem. You don't become a politician because you understand actual problems, but because you're good at, well, politics, not understanding and/or solving real problems.
     
     Other than that, if you want freedom and democracy, I'd highly encourage you to consider free software, rather than open source software. The latter is nothing more than a marketing strategy by big businesses to not have to pay for high quality developers, whereas the former is software that protects the freedom of its users.
