@rnd Before #GNU GPL ... we had these things called #GNU Emacs public license. GDB dates back to 1986, while the GNU GPL is from 1988.
Though at that point, there was no clause about the "interactive" part. It came much later, and was not taken from a earlier version of GDB, but showed up in the GNU GPL version 1.
@t3rr0rz0n3 Three of those apply equally to the #GNU#GPL, so not sure what point you are trying to make.
The GNU GPL does not disallow use in proprietary software, there is no obligation to share anything, and companies (and anyone) can share without giving back.
When comparing, or checking for licences it is useful to use the exact copy from the #GNU project .. the SHA256 or similar can be used to find projects that include a copy of the GNU #GPL.
