Apple's recent support of fascism in the US highlights that there's never been a better time to adopt and support #FreeSoftware. I truly believe better, more ethical computing is to be found in the #GNU #Linux operating system that fully respects the #privacy and #freedom of users.

You might be interested to know how much it costs to run a project like GNU Guix. Well our goal is €15,000 ($17,500) a year of donations to pay for our *current expenses*.

We have all the normal expenses that a Free Software project has for our development infrastructure, hosting and that sort of thing.

There are some unique parts of being a package manager and Linux distribution that make our needs a bit more acute ...

Sounds beyond pathetic .. none of those projects are important in the grand scheme of things for software freedom. A VR library? Learning a new writing system?

How about @fsf fixing the currently non-working infrastructure for the #GNU project? gnu.org, mailing lists, git etc have been constantly down for months, if not years instead of wasting membership fees on bullshit.

As someone who had come to prefer using an iPad for all of my computing the switch to GNU/Linux was an unexpected turn but one that has been far better than expected. Delightful even. But, seven months in, a laptop is still a laptop with a permanently attached keyboard and no multi-touch screen. There's no denying it, I have missed the experience of using a detachable touch screen computer...

GNU - The most unthanked FLOSS and free/libre software contributor in human lives.

Yet, it's labeled Linux, and people refuse to call it GNU/Linux.

Only thank GNU in public speeches and media sessions.

People will endlessly find and use every justification to defend the label as simply "Linux," including the argument: "If we call it an operating system, then it will be GNU/Linux/Bash/GIMP/LibreOffice/... and it becomes ridiculous.
