I need to debug some slowness on my Android phone which I *think* are DNS related. Would anyone recommend any Android tools for analysing DNS queries or other network issues?

I would strongly prefer to not tether to a laptop just to run tcpdump/Wireshark, if I can avoid it (yes, I know how to use those, so no need to suggest them, I need Android apps for now).

Google só poupa empresas na verificação de apps

Segundo o site OS News, os planos do Google são tão terríveis quanto se imaginava.

Os desenvolvedores terão que pagar para enviar os dados pessoais para o Google antes que possam ter o app instalado em celulares Android.

A nova exigência é completamente incompatível com o funcionamento da F-Droid.

Somente estudantes e hobistas estão livres das taxas, mas ainda precisam entregar dados e terão enormes burocracias e restrições na distribuição dos apps.

O Google ainda jura que não vai compartilhar os dados com governos, mas essa é só mais uma mentira em tudo o que diz a respeito das novas imposições.

Só empresas receberão colher de chá, com o Google terceirizando os cuidados com a "segurança" para o time de TI delas.

Google started masking shared links from its Android app, hiding the actual URL and adding extra tracking.

How to disable:
1. Open the Google app
2. Profile → Settings → Other settings
3. Turn off "Shorten links to web pages"

Now you'll share real URLs, unmasked and without extra tracking.

So there are multiple issues with #Spotify. Donating money to #Trump, investing in AI weapon technology for #Israel (read genocide), very or no royalties for artist, etc.

I'm thinking leaving Spotify for a while now. There is one issue and that is my 14 year old son. He is completely in music and listens to a lot of (older) music I also like. He shares carefully curated playlists with me, like we shared mix-tapes back in the days. He uses Spotify to discover music, like we did in the recordstore or festivals back in the day.

So another streaming service with a comparable catalogue is something I can't get around I'm afraid. But all those are big-tech or smaller big-tech (middle-tech, how do you call that)? So I tried 3 options; #Qobuz, #Tidal and #Deezer.

* Qobuz: French. Owned by the British Xandrie SA (website has not https 🤔). Although having a large catalogue (all 3 options are comparable in that aspect), there are a few things holding me back. 1. not an updated (unofficial) #Linux app; 2. the #Android app is not that good IMO. Looks outdated; 3. the onboarding resulted in artists I don't know or don't like; 4. The prices are a bit higher as the two others. I'm on a budget.

I must admit the iPhone Air looks pretty cool. Now that Google is locking down #Android, I might as well get one of those and do #Conversations_im for iOS instead.

Someone recently tried to convince me that allowing native (i.e. outside of the ART) code execution on #android is the reason why #sideloading is so dangerous.

They meant that only native libraries can escape the java sandbox and attack buffer overflows and such in system calls and other parts of the runtime.

This perspective has thrown me for a spin.
