Putin’s claim of “cultural identity” between Russians and Ukrainians was a drastic distortion specifically because Ukrainians do not share the collective society and authoritarian submission of Russians, which he tried to imply. And this is specifically the aspect - individualism and peer governance - in which we Poles are very similar to Ukrainians.
