@k1tteh Yes, everything microsoft does is typically planned for years beforehand.
Sometimes they succeed, sometimes they fail, but when they fail, they take note of the lessons learned and try it again when the time is more ripe (from a few months to more than a decade).
One example would be Palladium - they failed 10+ years ago and are trying again now that backdoor co-processors and fTPM's are now almost always included in hardware.
Another example is the "recall" - they chose to not release it on the planned date, but are releasing it with most of the same functionality now that most people have forgotten about it.
Making fun of microsoft doesn't do anything to the success or failure of their proprietary plans.
