@splitshockvirus What is incorrect with my statement?
There is a reason why many sniper rifles are bolt action - semi-automatics have 3 stages of recoil, while bolt-actions have 1, plus semi-automatics have lots of moving components in the mechanism, while bolt actions have less moving components and many components in a rifle need to be excellently machined and in excellent condition for a rifle to have excellent accuracy.
For the purposes of sniping, generally the order of preference for a sniper would generally be a rifle designed for sniping, or a bolt action rifle designed for long distance target shooting (as great accuracy) and AR-15 style rifles would generally only be used if nothing else is available as they're not known for excellent accuracy.
